Your Instructor
Scott Howard, JD, CEC, PCC

Scott HowardScott Howard is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), a Certified MentorCoach (CMC) and a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) providing leadership and executive coaching services from his office in Baltimore, Maryland.

He is an extraordinary teacher who consistently receives exceptionally positive reviews from his students.  As one wrote last spring, “Without a doubt—Scott is the most gifted, caring and inspiring teacher I have ever had.”

Scott also serves as MentorCoach Director of Learning and with CEO Anne Durand provides leadership to the trainer team and to every aspect of the MentorCoach learning community.

In a previous life, Scott was a Commander in the United States Coast Guard with 20 years of experience leading individuals and groups in professional and personal development. He has specialized experience in advising and counseling senior leaders. Scott used coaching techniques throughout his military career and has leveraged a combination of expertise, intuition and empowerment to bring out the best in team members and instill confidence to overcome leadership and technical challenges.

Scott loves coaching and is passionate about helping clients create actionable plans, move forward and achieve desired outcomes.  He’s worked with private, non-profit, academic, and military and government professionals. Coaching entrepreneurs, he’s helped them establish a better life balance and avoid burnout. He’s coached small business owners to broaden their perspectives, get unstuck, and move their business in new directions. Scott has coached executives and senior managers transitioning between roles, careers and preparing for increased responsibilities. His coaching expertise has helped clients enhance their leadership skills, improve communications, catalyze teams and increase effectiveness in the workplace.

Scott finds that almost all coaching relationships end up including personal and life coaching elements.  Thus he has been very comfortable and successful in mentoring students who want to focus on personal or life coaching.

Though no longer active as a lawyer, Scott is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. As a military judge advocate, he served as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and a command advice attorney to several operational and support units where his duties included advising flag officers and senior civilian officials on sensitive legal, administrative, and ethical matters.

He is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, a Certified MentorCoach and a Certified Executive Coach providing leadership and executive coaching services from his office in Baltimore, Maryland. His clients include executives, lawyers, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and many others interested in achieving their personal and professional best. Scott is married to a wonderful man, also named Scott, and they have two amazing sons. Scott loves the outdoors, spending time with family and his dogs, and being near the water.
