2. Overview of Positive Psychology Applications and Interventions
3. Positive Psychology in One's Personal Life
4. Positive Psychology in the Workplace
5. Positive Psychology in Families and Schools
6. Positive Psychology and Psychotherapy
7. Positive Psychology and Coaching
8. The Future of Positive Psychology Applications
2. Day and Date: TBD
3. Class Times: TBD
4. Tuition. $597 + Optional $75 CEU Fee
For CEU information, see #10 below.
5. Required Text: Peterson, C. (2006). A Primer in Positive
Psychology. New York: Oxford University Press. This will be
a background text for the class. Research Articles: In addition,
each week Chris will email you the most relevant research articles for
the next week's class. They'll come as a PDF attachment which you can
easily open and print out.
6. Class Web Site. There will be a password protected class
web site. In advance of each session, we'll post Chris' power points
for the next class in multiple formats. Well also post Chris' special
lecture notes in advance of each class. And after each session, you'll
be able to listen to online or to download a digital recording of that
class to your computer, MP3 player (eg your iPod). Thus, when you have
a conflict with a particular class, you won't miss a thing. For the
Authentic Happiness Coaching Program, some students had ongoing
conflicts and listened to the entire class by recording. This will be
an option for you as well.
7. Prerequisites: None. While Chris' Master Class, "Positive
Psychology Immersion 1--North of Neutral", is a natural partner to this
class, it is not required. This MentorCoach Master Class is open to
the public.
8. Attendance. Attendance is optional and there are no required
papers or exams. To receive a Certificate of Program Completion, CEUs,
ICF CCEs, or credit toward MentorCoach or ICF Certification, you must
be present for 80% of the classes. That translates to you must be present
seven of the eight classes. To take attendance, we'll give out a one-word
clue at the beginning and end of every class. You'll email us that code
to document your presence in the class.
9. Certification: Yes. (The CEU fee applies only if you are
a licensed mental health professional in the US and need CEUs from the
American Psychological Association, National Board of Professional Counselors,
or National Association of Social Workers. Otherwise, do not register
for it.) Counts eight (8) hours toward MentorCoach® and International
Coach Federation Certification. Again, to receive credit for certification,
students must be counted present for seven of the eight classes. Attendance
at the actual class is documented by the student emailing in two one-word
clues that are given out during the class; they must be emailed in within
24 hours of the class ending. Listening to the class by recording does
not count toward the attendance requirement for certification.
10. CEUs: Yes. Provides eight (8) hours of CEUs for Psychologists
(APA), Social Workers (NASW), Licensed Professional Counselors (NBCC)
and, in California, for Marriage and Family Therapists. Internationally,
meets criteria for eight (8) hours of Coach Continuing Education with
the International Coach Federation. To receive credit for CEUs, students
must be present for seven of the eight classes. Attendance at the actual
class is documented by the student emailing in two one-word clues that
are given out during the class; they must be emailed in within 24 hours
of the class ending. Listening to the class by recording does not count
toward the attendance requirement for receiving CEUs.
11. Enrollment Cap: Enrollment will be capped and the class
will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
12. Refund Policy. You may withdraw your registration at any
time before the beginning of the second one hour class and receive a
full refund. You are responsible for the full tuition amount if you
do not withdraw before the beginning of the second class.
